Special effects: silver metallic pigments on the kimono’s and on the paper held by the woman on the left; gold metallic pigments on the tables and on the fan held by the woman on the right.

Published in 1953 by the Yamada Shoin Company.

E-awase (i.e., Picture Contest) is the title of Chapter 17 of the Genji monogatari written by Murasaki Shikibu in the early 11th century.
